Artist’s Reception with Angel Pricer

Have you ever wondered what goes into making an Oracle Card Deck? 

I have a few favorite decks.  The Osho Zen Tarot and Rosy Aronson’s Wisdom Keepers are among my top choices.  Maybe you have some favorites too?  Or maybe you don’t even know what an Oracle card deck is!  

To me, the best decks display a blend of engaging images paired with simple, timeless wisdom delivered story-style.  This is the approach I’m taking as I answer the inner call to create an oracle card deck from my own image and word collection.  

In this Artist’s Reception, you’ll be among the first to see the samples of the The Activity of Love Oracle Card set.  

Inspired by the 5-painting series of the same name, The Activity of Love has been offering a way to see, and be seen, through the eyes of love since 2020.  Now, the layers underneath it all are having their chance to see and be seen too!  

Encoded life-lessons-in-love, each painting is a mystery school unto itself.  As a body of work, they are artifacts of what I have lived and learned in the school of love. Offering them in this way is an invitation for your own heart’s wisdom to take a seat at the table.  

I didn’t set out to create an oracle card deck when I began this series in early 2020, but I did commit to expressing my lived, and often painful experiences on the canvas.  The story-telling that emerged through the accompanying journaling process helped me learn to listen more deeply and remain curious.  These two acts together, over time, are what sparked this current project.  

Sharing it all, as it is in-process, is both exciting and terrifying!  My hope is for this  act of love to make strides toward normalizing the both/and aspects of our human journey.
